About the Artwork
A Yurt Camp Under a Pointed Peak
The Kyrgyz flag flies over a summer yurt camp at Song-Kul, with a sharp grey peak rising behind it. Camps like this only appear for a few months a year, when shepherds bring their herds up to the high pastures around the lake. The flag suits the scene: at its centre is a tunduk, the crown of a yurt.
Rough, tussocky grassland fills the foreground and leads the eye across to the row of white yurts on the horizon.
It suits a living room or study, and makes a fitting reminder of a trip through Kyrgyzstan or Central Asia. Printed on premium lustre paper from A5 up to A2. For a tighter crop of the same camp, see our yurt camp close-up.
