About the Artwork
Segovia Aqueduct, Spain: Black and White Arch Framing the Old Town
A black and white photograph of the Roman aqueduct in Segovia, Spain, looking through one of its stone arches. The dark granite fills the foreground and frames a church bell tower, the rooftops of the old town and a cloudy sky beyond. Deep shadow in the stonework against the soft grey sky gives the image strong contrast and depth.
